No matter where in Bloomington you live, I believe that we all deserve the same thing- a healthy, happy life in a safe climate.
Join me in making sure our city’s values are represented.
One Bloomington
No matter East or West side, old or young, rich or poor- we all deserve a happy healthy life. Policies that make sure our resources are distributed fairly across the city are vitally important to serve the needs of each and every resident. We all deserve to enjoy the benefits of our city.
Investing in Public Infrastructure
Responsibly investing in our parks, roads, and city facilities will continue to make our city a premiere place to live and serve the needs of all our residents, from young families to residents who have been here 50 years. The people that came before us made the selfless choice to invest in our city, and now it’s our turn to give the next generation the same.
Confronting Climate Change
Bloomington residents know the importance of addressing climate change and making sure we do everything we can to leave a livable planet for those to come. Preserving our green spaces is important to preserving our superior quality of life. We need to pass policies and support programs that protect our award-winning water, beautiful wilderness, and clean air.
Public Safety
We as a community have a duty to keep each other safe, and we have to make sure that first responders, public health advocates, and community members have the relationship they need to make that happen. We need to ensure that our full-time fire department can get the funding they need to pay our fantastic fire fighters and keep our department full time.
Garbage and Recycling
We all need to work together to meet our solid waste disposal needs while also caring for the world around us. As the county calls on us to be more sustainable, it is also the responsibility of the Council and city staff to ensure that garbage services remain affordable and efficient. Everyone in Bloomington plays a role in keeping our city clean, and we can improve that impact even more by encouraging everyone from residents to contractors to reduce, reuse, recycle and repair.
Small Business
The City of Bloomington invites and supports small business owners and entrepreneurs, uplifting us all by welcoming people from all walks of life to come and thrive here. The Council should work to modernize city ordinances to aid the growth of our small businesses, and support continuing programs that encourage our businesses to grow and stay in Bloomington.
Safe, Affordable Housing
All people have the right to safe, affordable housing. Investing in secure and accessible housing for all creates positive ripple effects for people now and generations into the future.
