Born and raised in the Twin Cities, I am a mom, wife, lawyer, and volunteer.
As a kid I attended Minnetonka schools, doing very well in my earlier years but struggling by the time I got to high school. I gave up on school, got my GED, and went to work.
Lucky for me, I found Normandale Community College, which reignited my love for learning. Normandale gave me the skills and confidence to transfer to the University of Minnesota. Using Pell grants and my job at the dry cleaners I put myself through Normandale and the UMN. As a student at the UMN I decided that I was going to go to law school.
In between college and law school, I served with AmeriCorps as a Job & Financial Coach in the Seward neighborhood of Minneapolis, helping people to achieve their career goals and navigate their finances.
At William Mitchell College of Law (where I was awarded a 75% merit scholarship), I studied criminal defense and worked with a lot of good folks who had made some bad choices. It was a humbling experience and I am eternally grateful for the opportunity.
In 2021 my family moved to Bloomington and received a warm and comforting welcome. We knew right away this is where we want our child to grow up.
Bloomington believed in me as a young student and gave me the courage to help others up the ladder, rather than pull it up behind me. Bloomington is where I first found my voice, and if you join me I know we can do great things together.
